CAREGIVING GRANT:
The SESP Executive Committee is pleased to announce the establishment of a caregiving grant initiative for SESP members to help offset the costs of care at home or at the conference accrued during in-person conference attendance and/or during preparation time directly involved in participating in the conference (e.g., preparing a conference presentation). This mechanism is intended as one action the society is taking to increase equity and inclusion among its membership. This grant is available to any SESP member who serves as a caregiver in any capacity (e.g., child, parent, spouse, dependent, etc.). Funds can be used for any caregiving needs during the conference, including at the conference or home. Awards of up to $500 per applicant are available. These heavily discounted room rates will be available until September 23 (unless we sell out our room block before this date). After that date, SESP will no longer control the room block, and the remaining rooms will be released to the hotel's general inventory at the normal (undiscounted) rate.
We have negotiated a package of amenities that will appear as a separate charge of $35/night when you reserve your room. However, the receipt you will receive when you check out of the hotel will fold this fee into the nightly charge. Hopefully, this will allow you to be reimbursed for full hotel charges, for those of you who can be reimbursed. The amenity package includes valet parking, luggage service, business center access, daily water and snack provided in-room, in-room wireless access, swimming pool and hot tub access with towel service.

COVID CONSIDERATIONS:
We will follow guidance from the State of New Mexico and hotel rules regarding COVID-19 precautions. All SESP 2024 attendees will be asked to confirm that they have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
